Where are they now?

The majority of the churches of the Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC) were received into the Antiochian Archdiocese under his emminence, Metropolitan Philip, in 1987. A number of EOC churches were not ready to take this step at the time.

Indianapolis Diocese (EOC)

The O Great Mystery website was started on behalf of a somewhat small part of the remaining EOC: the churches and monastery under the care of EOC bishop Kenneth SAMUEL Jensen of Indianapolis. Praise God that all of his churches are now part of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA).

It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Mothers Pilar and Paula. We have lost contact with them over the years. To the best of our knowledge they continue to serve in the EOC under EOC bp. CHRISTOPHER of Terre Haute.

Holy Comforter Orthodox Church (EOC)
Now Saint Thomas the Apostle Mission (OCA)

Note: the O Great Mystery website team had no knowledge of this church until after we began our journey into the OCA, although we know others at Holy Trinity (EOC) were aware of them as they were also under bishop SAMUEL.

Other EOC Churches

To the best of our knowledge, a number of churches continue to exist as a communion with the name Evangelical Orthodox Church. We no longer keep in touch with any of them. We pray that they too will one day be able to make the leap into the Orthodox Church.
