Today, we honor your prophet, Joshua, O Lord: * By his prayers save our souls.

Chosen by Moses to lead the people of God into the promised land, * you led them through the waters of the Jordan. * Thus, by your actions as well as by your name * you foreshadow the saviour, who leads us through the waters of baptism. * O holy prophet, Joshua, * beg him now to save our souls.

For Mamas

Troparion, Tone II
It was clear that you belonged to the Lord from childhood, O holy Mamas, * and your holinesss endeared you to man and beast alike. * As a youth you gave your blood for Christ, * so that you became the splendor of martyrs. * Beg Christ, our God, to grant peace to the world, * and to us his great mercy.

Kondakion, Tone VII
With the staff entrusted to you by God, * lead your people as a flock to life-giving pastures, * and enable those who honor you, * to trample their invisible and mighty enemies beneath their feet, * for you are their fervent intercessor.

For the powers of heaven

Troparion, Tone IV
O leaders of the hosts of heaven, * shield us with the wings of your unearthly glory, * and keep us safe from harm. * Worthless as we are, * we fall before you endlessly entreating you: * Rescue us from all affliction, * O you who lead the powers of heaven.

Kondakion, Tone II
O leaders of God's spirit hosts who celebrate his glory, * you guides of all mankind who also head angelic legions: * Come and fill our every need, * and beg our God to grant us his great mercy.

Theotokion, Tone IV
Raised in the temple of the Lord near the holy of holies, * you were schooled in faith and wisdom, and robed in virginity beyond compare. * To you Gabriel came with this message from on high: * Hail to you, most blessed one, O favorite of God, * the Lord is with you.

Blessed is the kingdom of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit both now and forever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
