9th week after Pentecost, Tone VIII
On this date we celebrate:

The holy grand princess of Moscow, Eudoxia, called Euphrosyne in religion.
Wednesday: The holy and lifegiving cross

For Eudoxia
Troparion, Tone VIII
Left as a widow in this world, she espoused the divine bridegroom of the world to come, * and for all her wealth and finery, she lived a life of great austerity hidden form the eyes of men. * After many years of caring for her family as well as the poor and the needy, * she left her family and home to enter the monastery she herself had founded. * In the monastic habit, she practiced great discipline and self-control, * and in the end the Lord crowned her life with a blessed death. * Now that she enjoys your presence, O Christ, our God, * by her prayers save our souls.

Kondakion, Tone II
You endeavored to please God by rejecting all the passing vanities of this world, * and by embracing a life of fasting in watchfulness and constant prayer. * For this, the Lord bestowed on you the gift of healing, * and you obtained sight for the blind and healing for the ills of many others. * Therefore, we are overjoyed in saluting you, O venerable mother, * as we glorify God, who glorifies you.

For the cross
Troparion, Tone I
O Lord, save your people and bless your inheritance. * Give victory to those who battle evil, * and with your cross protect us all.

Kondakion, Tone IV
Bestow your mercies on all who bear your name, * O you who freely let yourself be raised upon the cross. * In your power, gladden all who battle evil, * by gracing them with victory over every foe. * For as long as they have you as their ally, * they possess a weapon of peace, * unfailing trophy of victory.

Stavrotheotokion, Tone I
Surrounded by the grace of your son's holy cross, * we hasten to sing your praises, O lady most pure. * For we enjoy your constant intercession * that preserves us from every evil.

Blessed is the kingdom of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit both now and forever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
